It’s Move-In Day for the First Hillside Cottage Residents

After nearly a year of prep work and following months of construction, the newest neighborhood at The Culpeper is now home to its first residents. April 28 marked move-in day for Doug and Peggy Kyle. The duo was among the first to put down a deposit on the new Hillside Cottages in 2020.

To mark the occasion, The Culpeper’s marketing team stocked the Kyle’s kitchen with goodies to bless their new home. Additionally, photos of scriptures written on the beams of the cottage during a blessing ceremony earlier this year were hung throughout the home as a reminder of good wishes for the future.

The Culpeper’s leadership team announced the expansion of its independent living options back in July 2020. The project will include 25 cottages with an additional 11 cottages possible in future phases. Fifteen of the cottages have been sold so far. Move-ins for new residents will take place every Wednesday for the next five weeks. Additional residents will move in this July.

The cottages will be built in five floor plans that range in size from approximately 1,200 square feet to 1,800 square feet. Each of the Hillside Cottages will be outfitted with LifeSmart, LifeSpire of Virginia’s connected home kits, to include smart doorbells, learning thermostats, outlets and more.

Residents will also be able to enjoy the neighborhood’s outdoor living space, The Overlook, which includes a fire pit, gas grills, restrooms, an outdoor kitchen and scenic views of the mountains.
