January 21: COVID-19 Update
The management team is happy to report the terrace level had a successful week of all negative results as part of outbreak testing. The Culpeper’s clinical team also continues to test symptomatic team members as needed. One new memory support direct care team member tested positive after becoming symptomatic.
All communal activities and dining continue to be suspended within the memory support neighborhood and residents will remain in their private rooms. All communal activities and dining within assisted living and Main and Davis continue as scheduled with mask use and distancing in place. Communal activities and dining continue to be suspended in the rehab-to-home neighborhood.
Per Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) guidance, visitation will not be discontinued although visitors are urged to strongly consider the need for visitation to rehab-to-home at this time and are strongly discouraged from visiting memory support.
The positive team member will remain at home until return-to-work criteria are met. Contact tracing has been completed. No high-risk exposures to residents or team members were identified.
The Culpeper’s terrace level remains in outbreak testing with the next testing date for residents and team members set for Thursday, January 27. Residents and team members in memory support will be tested next Tuesday, January 25, or if they become symptomatic.
Any team members who have received a medical or religious waiver from LifeSpire of Virginia will continue to be tested based on the county transmission rate. The leadership team will communicate any further positive cases.
All licensing agencies and the Virginia Department of Health have been notified of the positive cases and subsequent actions taken by The Culpeper.
